…mercy when we are least expecting it. Grace is divine Love without any condition. It is the process of accepting what we have not earned. Grace is charity and it begins at home, with yourself. Grace is the gift of God for each of us. It is unwavering patience, forgiveness, and steadfast affection. It is our starting point, our safe resting place, our destination in healing through God’s love. All that is required is accepting it. This is the heart of my practice as a Christian Science healer. I come to see what God’s love has already done for you and together we insist God’s love for you is everything you need to heal, transform, restore your heart, your body, and your mind, like new, because God’s gracious unwavering love, – from the beginning of time – has been the great Healer of all mankind.

…with us a long human history of brokenness; a story of deep sorrow and pain which impairs our progress and freedom. Honesty is hard. It has high standards. It demands a full restitution of all wrong or mistaken views of ourselves or others harbored in our own hearts. It requires humility, courage, and consistent effort, -- which, if left unresolved turns into a conspiracy against our mental clarity, and joy. It is a constant, steady stream of light which displaces darkness and opens wide the windows of freedom. Our willing, persistent humble efforts will reveal our unchanging goodness. Truth demands we begin the journey of self-observation. Asking who we would be without our story begins to crush our hold on familiar sufferings. Knowing the Truth, Christ Jesus declared, “makes us free”. An honest heart is the most powerful gift we have. As a Christian Science practitioner, I am somewhat like an attorney who defends your honest heart! I am standing for your God-given rights. Our joint effort is expected to propel thought into a spiritual declaration of independence, which inevitably brings forth peace, dominion, and joy.

…but to our dear Parent, in heaven. Liberty is our conscious awareness that God is good and created us to liberally express His goodness. Freedom is infinite and knows not time, age, history, space, past or future. Freedom is a present state for all of us as God’s spiritual offspring. The apostle Paul declared, “I was free born.”, and Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer of the Science of Christ’ teachings, named Christian Science, wrote “Love and Truth make free, ...”. Eddy continues, “Citizens of the world, accept the “glorious liberty of the children of God,” and be free! This is your divine right. The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you, entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 227:24–29). As a Christian Science practitioner, I begin each prayer with an awareness of our innate freedom as a child of God. Insisting that what God has decreed cannot be overturned or overruled.
